ENVIRONMENTAL IMPAIRMENT LIABILITY WHAT DOES IT COVER?

Environmental Impairment and Pollution Liability Insurance Policy: Indemnity is provided for the cost of clearing up, the liability arising from the contamination or pollution, not deemed accidental, sudden or foreseen.  The EIL insurance cover includes the expense of clearing up, legal expenses to defend and financial loss arising there from.

The EIL insurance cover provides protection for the vendors, the buyers and/or any other party that might have a risk of inherent, imbedded or historic pollution.

ENVIRONMENTAL IMPAIRMENT AND POLLUTION POLICY FEATURES

1.         Environmental Impairment and Pollution Liability Insurance Policy covers on site clean up of pre-existing environmental conditions - coverage for environmental conditions which existed before any land sale, but were not discovered until after the sale and for which the Insured is obligated to pay

2.         The policy also covers on site clean up of new environmental condition - coverage for environmental conditions which commenced on or after the sale and which the Insured is obligated to pay Third Party :-

• Environmental Impairment and Pollution Liability Insurance is for bodily injury and property damage;
• Environmental Impairment and Pollution Liability Insurance is for clean up resulting from pre-existing conditions;
• Environmental Impairment and Pollution Liability Insurance is for clean up resulting from new conditions;
• Environmental Impairment and Pollution Liability Insurance is for off site accidents and property damage; 
• Environmental Impairment and Pollution Liability Insurance is for clean up costs of waste disposal sites;

3.         The EIL Insurance policy provides cover for environmental pollution conditions resulting from transported cargo.

4.         Another feature of the policy is Business Interruption coverage. Environmental clean up costs includes legal or associated expenses incurred by the Insured in and around the environmental impairment condition.
